How is a Karup Design futon made?
A futon from Karup Design is made using a process inspired by traditional Japanese futon production. With the help of advanced machinery, cotton from the textile industry is recycled into sturdy cotton mats. These mats are then stacked on top of each other and pressed into a cover. The mattresses are therefore built up layer by layer using mats of 100% recycled cotton. Subsequently, a robot takes care of the beautiful tufting of the futons, giving the mattress its recognizable look and shape with the diamonds or squares.

The Basic is an 11 cm thick futon mattress filled with cotton and featuring a comfort foam core.
