Despite a width of only 170 cm, CORD is a “real” sofa bed, providing a comfortable sleeping place for two people. The possibility to adjust the back in 8 different positions gives the CORD sofa bed an extra dimension of comfort.
This design from Softline was conceived by: busk + hertzog Architecten specialized in furniture / product design. The studio, today located in London, UK, was founded year 2000 by Flemming Busk (1967), architect MAA and designer MDD, and Stephan B. Hertzog (1969), designer MDD. busk + hertzog has received more than 40 international design awards for their works and their designs are represented in the Royal House of Norway, Danish Broadcast Cooperation, CNN, Chivas Regal, the Norwegian Embassy in Helsinki, the Carnegie Trust, and “The Modern” (Restaurant), Museum of Modern Art, New York.
The Cord design sofa bed is of very solid quality and made of a combination of wood and metal with a seat of sturdy comfort foam with nozag springs. The base is available in chrome or black. The Cord sofa bed is also available in many trendy colors and can be covered in various types of fabric, including eco cotton (60/40), coarsely woven (85/15) wool (70/30). The mattress of this sofa is made of a good quality sg30 foam, for optimal comfort. This type of foam has a medium hardness, for a good sitting and lying ratio.
