Double sofa beds

Why choose a 2-person sofa bed?

A 2-person sofa bed is ideal for anyone who wants extra sleeping space without needing a separate guest room. In an instant, you can transform a comfortable sofa into a full-fledged double bed. This makes a luxury 2-person sofa bed perfect for:

• guest rooms
• studios and small apartments
• holiday homes or guesthouses
• multifunctional living spaces

In addition, you save space and money because you do not need to purchase a separate bed. With a single piece of furniture, you create both a comfortable seating area and a practical sleeping place.

Which size double sofa bed suits you?

The width of the sleeping surface determines how the sofa sleeps. This is how our collection is put together:

• 120 and 130 cm (double): spacious for one person, for two for a sleepover; the most compact choice for a studio or small living room. View the 130 cm sofa beds.
• 140 cm: our most popular size, suitable for two and the standard in smaller bedrooms. View the 140 cm sofa beds.
• 160 and 180 cm: sleeps like a full-size double bed, the size for those who sleep on it often or every night with two people. View 160 cm en 180 cm.
• 200 cm: extra wide, for those who value space above all else.
• Fold-out daybed: the Softline models Duet, Frame, and Lubi are 80 or 90 cm wide daybeds during the day and fold out to a sleeping surface of 160 or 180 cm; the most compact double sofa bed available.

Measure the sofa unfolded before purchasing: the lying surface is 200 cm long, and walking space is included.

What should you look for in a 2-person sofa bed?

• Lying surface: flat and continuous, without a seam or bar where your back rests. With Feydom, you sleep on the modules themselves; with Karup Design, a futon mattress rests on a wooden slatted base.
• Daily or occasionallyIf you sleep on it every night, choose a model with a full-size mattress, such as Feydom with a 5-year warranty; for a guest bed, a folding model suffices.
• covers: removable and washable with Feydom and Softline, handy with children, pets, or guests.
• Storage space: a number of models have a compartment under the seat for duvets and pillows; see sofa beds with storage space.
• MechanismSoftline and Karup Design fold out (the Softline daybeds from 80 or 90 cm to 160 or 180 cm), while Feydom is converted by sliding modules. Try it in the showroom, especially if you use it daily.

Frequently asked questions about 2-person sofa beds

What size is a double sofa bed?

Starting from 120 cm wide. 140 cm is the most popular size; 160 and 180 cm sleep like a double bed. Softline has daybeds of 80 or 90 cm that fold out to 160 or 180 cm.

What is the difference between a small double and a double sofa bed?

A 'tweener' is 120 or 130 cm wide: spacious for one person, cramped for two. From 140 cm upwards, it is considered a double; from 160 cm, it sleeps like a real double bed.

Can you sleep on a double sofa bed every night?

Yes, if the sleeping surface is flat and the mattress is thick enough. Feydom sofas are made for this and come with a 5-year warranty; the futon sofa beds from Karup Design can do it too. A thin folding mattress is for guests.

How much space do I need for a double sofa bed?

When unfolded, the lying surface is 200 cm long; leave room to get out. The closed width is the lying width plus the armrests; this measurement is listed for each model.
