The Karup Ziggy futon bed in carob brown 140×200 cm is the compact double size of the Ziggy in dark brown: 168 cm wide, 205 cm long, 29 cm high, solid pine lacquered in carob brown. Six open storage compartments in the frame make bedside tables unnecessary, exactly what a smaller bedroom needs.
The dark, low frame lies like a calm plane in the room. Combine it with light walls and a futon in a light cover, and the bed stands out for its lines rather than its mass.
Six compartments, no cupboards
Karup Design commissioned the Danish studio Says Who to design the Ziggy. The frame is made of solid FSC-certified pine with soft curves and six compartments 12,5 cm deep; the wide top edge serves as a place for a charging phone. A slatted base and assembly instructions are included. For the traditional base, select two 70×200 cm tatami mats made of rice straw with a rush grass top layer when configuring.

Choose a futon
When configuring, you choose one of the six Karup futons, or you order the bed without a futon for your own 140×200 cm mattress:
- Traditional: coreless cotton, approximately 13 cm
- Comfort: cotton with a 4 cm foam core, approximately 15 cm
- Coconut: cotton with a 3 cm coconut board core, approximately 16 cm
- Sandwich: cotton with a core of 4 cm latex foam and 3 cm coconut board, approximately 16 cm
- Double latex: cotton with an 8 cm latex foam core, approximately 18 cm
- Triple latex: cotton and wool with a core of 6 cm latex foam and 2 cm horsehair, approximately 20 cm

I'd prefer an organic futon
The Karup futons are made of recycled cotton, eco-friendly but not organically certified.
