Roots 90 is the essence of the Karup Design DNA: you not only get a chair, but also a bed and a comfortable lounge chair. By folding down the front legs and adjusting the backrest, you get a cozy lounge chair. By lowering the backrest completely, you get a nice bed in which you can recharge while rooted in the ground. Fold the backrest in half, fold over the mattress and you have a lounge chair of normal height. Roots 90 transforms quickly and easily - just like magic. Do you get the idea?

 

UNIQUE . ECO . FRIENDLY

The knots in the natural wooden frame make the sofa unique, so no piece of furniture is the same. In addition, the wooden frames are produced sustainably and come from wood from FSC ® certified forests.

The filling in the mattress is mainly made of recycled fibers from the textile industry that have been tested according to TÜV, which means that quality and environmental standards are met. In addition, this piece of furniture is packaged as efficiently as possible to limit CO2 emissions and waste.

The Karup design Roots 90 Natural is a sleeper chair: a 90 cm wide armchair that transforms in three steps into a lounge chair and a 90×200 cm single bed. The frame is solid pine in a natural finish, and you can choose the 12 cm futon mattress in your own fabric color. For a children's room, a home office that sometimes serves as a guest room, or a studio where every centimeter counts.

It is the smallest Roots, with the same construction and mattress as the Roots 140 and 160 sofa beds. Only the width differs, and with it the weight the frame supports: 150 kg.

From armchair to bed

Fold down the front legs and tilt the backrest: lounge chair. Lower the backrest all the way: a bed measuring 90 by 200 cm at a height of 20 cm. Fold the backrest in half and fold the mattress: back to an armchair at standard seating height, 47 cm. Everything is done by hand, without tools.

Mattress and fabric color

The futon mattress is filled with recycled cotton fiber around a 4 cm foam core, 12 cm thick, with a standard fabric of 80% cotton and 20% polyester. You choose the fabric color during configuration. Free fabric samples help with choosing.

Natural, black or carob brown

The Roots is on display in our showroom in Bergen op Zoom, featuring the largest Karup Design collection in the Benelux. Delivery in the Netherlands and Belgium is free, and the assembly instructions are included.
