The Karup futon bed Japan carob brown 140×200 cm is the smallest double size in the Japan series: 168 cm wide, 228 cm long, and just 20 cm high. It is the size for a guest room, a studio, or a bedroom where a 160 takes up just a little too much floor space. One person sleeps spaciously, two sleep close together, and because the bed is so low, the room remains open and uncluttered.
In the color carob brown, the solid wood takes on a deep, warm hue. This works particularly well in a smaller space: the bed becomes a quiet, dark surface on the floor instead of a piece of furniture that fills the room. With a light wall, a wool throw, and a single nightstand next to it, the decor is essentially complete.
Solid wood on eight legs
Karup Design constructs the Japan from solid wood sourced from FSC-certified Scandinavian forests. The frame rests on eight short legs, ensuring the slatted base remains stable even with daily use by two people. The solid wood slatted base and assembly instructions are included in the delivery. If you want to sleep like in Japan, place two 70×200 cm tatami mats inside the frame instead of the slatted base.

- Coconut: cotton with a 3 cm coconut board core, approximately 16 cm
