The Karup futon bed Japan Orange 140×200 cm is the Japan in Solar Orange, a warm and bright orange on a low solid wood frame: 168 cm wide, 228 cm long, 20 cm high. The compact double size, for a smaller bedroom or for those who sleep alone and want space.
Orange is a choice. In a room with white walls and plenty of daylight, the bed becomes the focal point, without needing much other color. Keep bedding and curtains simple, in white, ecru, or gray, and let the frame do the work.
The same construction as every Japan
Karup Design makes the frame from solid wood from FSC-certified Scandinavian forests and paints it in Solar Orange. Eight legs, an open frame containing the solid wood slatted base, included as standard with the assembly instructions. For a traditional bed base, select two 70×200 cm tatami mats made of rice straw with a top layer of rush grass when configuring.

Futon or your own mattress
When configuring, choose one of the six Karup futons, or order the bed without a futon and use your own 140×200 cm mattress:
- Traditional: coreless cotton, approximately 13 cm
- Comfort: cotton with a 4 cm foam core, approximately 15 cm
- Coconut: cotton with a 3 cm coconut board core, approximately 16 cm
- Sandwich: cotton with a core of 4 cm latex foam and 3 cm coconut board, approximately 16 cm
- Double latex: cotton with an 8 cm latex foam core, approximately 18 cm
- Triple latex: cotton and wool with a core of 6 cm latex foam and 2 cm horsehair, approximately 20 cm

The Karup futons are made of recycled cotton, eco-friendly but not organically certified.
