The Karup Japan black futon bed 140×200 cm is the smallest size of the Japan in black: 168 cm wide, 228 cm long, 20 cm high. For a small bedroom, a studio, or a guest room, a low black bed is a smart choice: it takes up little height and gives the room a clean, calm line.
Black works in a small space if the rest remains light. White or sand-colored walls, a light floor, one black nightstand or a natural one from the same series next to it, and the bed is the only dark surface in the room. A small room doesn't need more.
The same construction as the large sizes
Karup Design also produces the Japan 140 from solid wood from FSC-certified Scandinavian forests, with eight legs under a rectangular frame and a black lacquered finish. The solid wood slatted base and assembly instructions are included in the delivery. For a traditional bed base, place two 70×200 cm tatami mats made of rice straw with a top layer of rush grass inside the frame.
