The Karup futon bed Japan blue 180×200 cm is the widest size of the Japan in Vivid Blue: 208 cm wide, 228 cm long, 20 cm high. A wide, low bed in bright blue that, thanks to its low profile, remains stable even in a large room.
Two sleepers each have 90 cm, just as much as on a single bed. Keep the rest of the room light: white walls, a wooden floor, and bedding in white or ecru. The blue does the rest.
Built for a width of 208 cm
Karup Design makes the Japan from solid wood sourced from FSC-certified Scandinavian forests and paints the frame in Vivid Blue. The open frame stands on eight legs, so that the solid wood slatted base is supported across the full width. The slatted base and assembly instructions are included. Prefer tatami? Then choose two 90×200 cm mats during the configuration process, with a rice straw core and a rush grass top layer.

Futon for a wide bed
All Karup futons are available in 180×200 cm. Choose one when configuring or order the bed without a futon:
- Traditional: coreless cotton, approximately 13 cm
- Comfort: cotton with a 4 cm foam core, approximately 15 cm
- Coconut: cotton with a 3 cm coconut board core, approximately 16 cm
- Sandwich: cotton with a core of 4 cm latex foam and 3 cm coconut board, approximately 16 cm
- Double latex: cotton with an 8 cm latex foam core, approximately 18 cm
- Triple latex: cotton and wool with a core of 6 cm latex foam and 2 cm horsehair, approximately 20 cm

The Karup futons are made of recycled cotton, eco-friendly but not organically certified.
