The Karup futon bed Japan blue 140×200 cm is the Japan in Vivid Blue, a bright blue lacquered solid wood frame: 168 cm wide, 228 cm long, 20 cm high. The compact double size, low to the floor, for a smaller bedroom or a children's room that is ready for a large bed.
Blue on a low bed gives a room a playful touch without becoming busy. White walls, a light floor, and bedding in white, grey, or a softer blue keep it calm. A wooden nightstand from the same series in a natural finish adds warmth next to it.
Solid wood, blue lacquered
Karup Design makes the frame from solid wood from FSC-certified Scandinavian forests and finishes it in Vivid Blue. Eight legs, an open frame containing the solid wood slatted base, which is supplied together with the assembly instructions. If you want the traditional Japanese surface, select two 70×200 cm tatami mats during the configuration process, with a rice straw core and a rush grass top layer.

Futon at the Japan 140
When configuring, you choose a futon from Karup, or you order the bed without a futon and place your own 140×200 cm mattress on it:
- Traditional: coreless cotton, approximately 13 cm
- Comfort: cotton with a 4 cm foam core, approximately 15 cm
- Coconut: cotton with a 3 cm coconut board core, approximately 16 cm
- Sandwich: cotton with a core of 4 cm latex foam and 3 cm coconut board, approximately 16 cm
- Double latex: cotton with an 8 cm latex foam core, approximately 18 cm
- Triple latex: cotton and wool with a core of 6 cm latex foam and 2 cm horsehair, approximately 20 cm

The Karup futons are made of recycled cotton, eco-friendly but not organically certified.
